Omask 1:72 Fw 200 civil / transport (a masking set)

This is not a kit but a set of self-adhesive masking stencils cut from Oramask film. The masks are shaped to fit the glazing and the surface detail of a model of the four-engine Focke-Wulf Fw 200 transport and civil aircraft in 1:72 scale. They serve for clean and quick masking when spraying the cockpit frames, the windows and the other areas where a sharp transition of color is needed.

The real subject

The Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor was a German four-engine low-wing monoplane of the late 1930s. It came about originally as a long-range transport aircraft and, in Lufthansa colors, it made its name with record long-distance flights. The civil and transport machines were marked by an elegant, heavily glazed fuselage, which places demands on exactly this clean masking of the windows and frames when a model is built.

Use and tips

• Degrease the glazing before applying the masks and lay the parts on with a dry hand or with tweezers.
• Press the edges of the mask down with a toothpick so that paint does not run under them.
• Spray in thin coats; take the mask off while the last coat is still fresh.
• The film is intended for a single use on one model.
