Eduard Gannet AS.Mk.1/4 masks 1:72 is a pre-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the British Gannet carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft. It gives sharp paint transitions on the glazing and the wheels. It is not a model, but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This pre-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:72 scale is intended for a plastic model of the British Gannet carrier aircraft in its AS.Mk.1 and AS.Mk.4 versions. It is not a kit and it is not a model in its own right, but a set of precisely shaped masks made of thin yellow masking tape. The masks help you cover the divided glazing of the long canopy and separate the tires from the rims during spraying.
The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft for service aboard aircraft carriers. It was powered by a turboprop driving a pair of contra-rotating propellers, which allowed it to shut down one half of the powerplant and save fuel for long periods while patrolling over the sea. It had folding wings for stowage in the hangar below deck and a striking, elongated cockpit canopy. The AS versions served primarily in the hunt for submarines.
Degrease the glazing before applying the masks and let it dry. Lift the individual masks off the backing with tweezers and lay them on the canopy frames, pressing them into the edges and filling any gaps with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in two thin coats, so that it cannot bleed under the edge of the mask. The wheel masks separate the tire from the rim. Once the paint is dry, peel the masks off carefully at a sharp angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
