The real subject

The German word Sturmbrücke is made up of the terms for assault and for bridge. It was the label for bridging equipment meant to let units cross an obstacle quickly in the middle of an action, that is where an advance was held up by a trench, a ditch or a watercourse. It belonged to the equipment of engineers and in a scene it always reveals that the crossing of a terrain obstacle is being dealt with.

Building and painting tips

• Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry.
• Cut the surplus material and the traces of production away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the area back.
• The parts are not polystyrene, so make the joint with super glue.
• Lay the paint on in thin coats and play the base tone out with a darker wash into the joints.
• Paint elements that are stacked in the scene separately and assemble them only once the paint has dried.
