A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. This set of finely cast resin sharpens up the control surfaces of the British Gloster Gladiator biplane fighter in 1:72 scale. It replaces the parts from the box with faithfully drawn ailerons, elevator and rudder with fine texture of the ribs and the fabric covering, and lets them be seated in a deflected position. The set is meant for more advanced modelers with experience of resin.
On biplanes of the 1930s with largely fabric covering it is precisely the faithful texture of the moving surfaces that is the key to a realistic result. The casting captures the sag of the fabric between the ribs as well as the thin trailing edges, which arise from plastic only with difficulty. Deflected surfaces also give a static model a lively, action-like impression.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
