A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale for a model of the Gloster Meteor F.8 jet fighter. An accessory for a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter to enter regular service. The F.8 version was among the most widespread and formed the backbone of British fighter aviation after the Second World War. It was a single-seat machine with a straight wing and a pair of engines in nacelles built into the wing itself, which gives it a characteristic silhouette that later swept-wing fighters no longer have.
This is a set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale. Photo-etch is a thin metal sheet with an etched pattern from which shapes can be made that cannot be molded finely enough in plastic: seat belts, instrument panels, covers, grilles and small reinforcements. The parts are held on a carrier fret and are cut from it only at the moment they come up in the build. The exact list of items and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the photo-etched parts off with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not with scissors, which will buckle them. Make the bends along the etched score lines, ideally with a bending tool or at least two blades. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue; on larger areas a two-part adhesive helps, because it gives time to align the part. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and use a primer, or the coat will come off while the part is handled.
The kit, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
