The higher of the two levels at which New Ware offers masks for this carrier aircraft. The masks are machine-cut from kabuki paper, a thin masking material of medium tack that can be laid even on small curved parts without wrinkling. The exact extent of the sheet is given by the illustration on the packaging of the set.
The basic set deals above all with the glazing. The higher level from this manufacturer is usually intended for anyone who wants more places on the model covered and does not want to cut them out himself. On the Hawkeye there are naturally plenty of such places, because besides the cockpit the model has a large rotating rotodome, divided engine nacelles and multi-part vertical tail surfaces.
Never tear the edge of a mask straight up. Get under a corner with the tip of a scalpel and draw the mask back at an angle across itself, that is, against the direction in which it lies. The paint then breaks at the edge and does not peel away into the surface. If a small burr does remain, level it with the tip of a toothpick dipped in the thinner that matches the paint used. Any adhesive residue that exceptionally clings to the glass comes off with a cotton bud and a little alcohol, but avoid aggressive solvents, which will fog a clear part.
The set is an accessory for painting a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
