A set of precisely cut painting masks of kabuki paper in the EXPERT version for models of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat carrier-based fighter in 1:72 scale. The EXPERT version is exceptionally complete: besides the canopy frames it usually also includes masks for the wheels, further clear parts and aids for masking the national insignia and the camouflage. The subject follows the color scheme of the unit nicknamed the Pukin Dogs.

The real subject

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing, intended to defend carrier groups. The F-14A version was the first production version with two engines and a powerful radar for combat at long range.

Use

• Peel the masks off the sheet with tweezers and place them exactly on the canopy frames and the other clear parts.
• Press the edges down carefully so that paint cannot run under them.
• Spray in thin coats; remove the mask before the paint has fully cured.
• Kabuki paper follows curved shapes and leaves no adhesive on the surface.
