A masking set in 1:72 scale for a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc fighter. The pre-cut pieces make painting the canopy frames easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter, and in the Battle of Britain it shot down more enemy machines than any other British type. In design it stood halfway between two eras: its fuselage had a truss framework of steel tubes and fabric covering at the rear. The Mk.IIc version is recognized by its armament of four 20 mm cannon in the wing. Power came from the liquid-cooled V12, that is the Merlin engine.
The canopy of the Hurricane is divided into many frames, and in 1:72 scale it is a job where cutting tape by hand easily ends in a ragged edge. Pre-cut pieces remove that problem: they are stuck down, they mark out the glass, and the frame is sprayed together with the surrounding fuselage. The set is cut for a particular kit, because the shape of the glazing differs from one to another; which one the manufacturer has in mind can be checked in its description.
Wash the glazing before masking and let it dry completely, as grease from your fingers only seems to hold a mask. Lift the pieces off with tweezers by the edge, so that the adhesive face stays clean, and press them down all round once they are in place. Spray the frames first in the cockpit shade from inside and only then with the exterior camouflage coat. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has become tacky, and fix any bleed with a brush at once, while the edge is still soft.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
