Avalon 1:72 Hawker Hurricane, national insignia is a decal sheet with British roundel national insignia for Hurricane models in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet with British national insignia, roundels and the accompanying markings, for models of the Hawker Hurricane fighter in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory, not a model of an airplane: the decals are applied to an already built and painted model, either because the original sheet from the kit is faded or damaged, or because you want the insignia in a more accurate shade and print quality.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-engined fighter of mixed construction, with a tubular fuselage frame largely covered in fabric on the first series, and with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. It served from the end of the 1930s and became the most numerous British fighter type of the early war; it flew over Britain, in the Mediterranean, in North Africa and in other regions. It is precisely this wide deployment that means the national insignia on Hurricanes changed in both size and the make-up of the rings over time and by theater, which is the most common reason modelers reach for a separate sheet.
The base under a decal must be smooth and glossy, otherwise air will be trapped under the film and silvering will appear. Cut the sheet as closely as possible around the print, dip the decal briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest on paper until it will slide off the backing. Draw the water off a seated decal with a soft cloth from the center toward the edges and let it dry thoroughly. On riveted and grooved surfaces a decal softener in several weak doses will help, and never brush over it while the film is softening. Finally seal everything with a clear coat and add a matte or semi-gloss final layer.
This is a set of decals, not a model of an airplane. The model, paints and clear coat are not included in the package.
