A masking set for a model of the British Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:72 scale. The pre-cut shapes make it easy to separate the paint from the glazed areas sharply.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Tempest Mk.V was a British fighter of the late Second World War, powered by a Napier Sabre engine in an H layout. It differed from its predecessor above all in its new thin wing, which gave it high speed at low altitude. The armament consisted of four cannon in the wing, and machines of this version made their name above all intercepting flying bombs over southern England.
Masking elements cut to the shape of the frames and areas that are to stay free of paint while you spray. The exact extent of the set, that is whether it covers only the canopy or the wheels and other places as well, and which kit it is cut for, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Apply the mask to a clean, degreased surface before spraying, never onto paint that is already dry. Press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a blunt wooden stick, because that is exactly where paint creeps under. Spray several thin coats rather than one heavy one, otherwise a ridge builds up along the edge. Lift the mask off with tweezers soon after the paint has dried and pull it back over itself rather than straight away from the surface. Wipe any adhesive residue off with a clean cloth dampened with a little alcohol, keeping away from fresh paint.
The aircraft kit, paints and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
