Three pilot figures in 1:72 scale, tied to the He 162 aircraft. Each of them is in different dress: one in a greatcoat, the second in a flying suit and the third in breeches. Thanks to that, three different figures go into one scene and no impression arises of the same man cast again and again.
An aircraft standing on its own has no scale for the eye to compare it with. As soon as a person stands beside it, the size becomes definite and the scene acquires a story: someone is walking up to the machine, someone is reporting, someone is waiting. In a small scale that goes double, because the model itself tends to be smaller than a hand.
The He 162 was a German jet fighter of the end of the Second World War. It came about in haste, with the emphasis on simple construction and undemanding production, and in service it carried the reputation of a machine that forgave a pilot nothing. Its crews are therefore a rewarding subject for an airfield scene.
Wash and degrease the figures before painting and even the surface out with a primer. Apply the paint in thin coats, or in a small scale the folds of the clothing are lost. Leave the face until last and work on it with as little paint on the brush as possible. The material of the figures is not stated with this item, so for the glue follow the manufacturer's instruction and always test the joint dry first.
For builders of airfield scenes and dioramas in 1:72 scale. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
