The photo-etched set Eduard 1:72 He 177 Greif for refining a kit of the heavy bomber. It is not a model but a set of fine metal parts intended for the Revell kit in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detailing set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for the plastic kit of the German heavy bomber Heinkel He 177 Greif in 1:72 scale from Revell. It is not an aircraft model but a package of thin metal parts that replace and complete the plastic elements and give the finished build fine detail unreachable by injection molding. The photo-etched parts refine above all the cockpit, the glazing framing and other exterior and interior areas.
The Heinkel He 177 Greif was the only German four-engine heavy bomber to enter series service in the Second World War, and on it the engines were coupled in pairs into one nacelle driving a single propeller. This arrangement gave the aircraft the look of a twin-engine machine, but it was prone to overheating and engine fires. The He 177 served for bombing and for carrying guided missiles.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Straight bends are more accurate with a photo-etch bending tool, and small elements are held with tweezers. Once degreased, the metal parts hold paint and blackening well.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
