A set of figures in 1:72 scale: the Scottish infantry of the British army from the period of the Anglo-Boer War in southern Africa.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Scottish foot regiments known as Highlanders were among the most striking units of the British army. In the fighting in southern Africa, however, their appearance changed a great deal from the parade form: the colorful items of equipment gave way to the khaki field uniform that the British forces wore in this conflict. It is precisely this form that makes the set a rewarding addition to a diorama from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
This is a set of figures for plastic models in 1:72 scale. The number of figures, their poses and any accessories are stated on the box; check them beforehand if you are building a scene with a particular number of characters.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the figure and sand the trace. Before painting, wash and degrease the figures. With khaki uniforms the model comes out better when the base tone is played with: a darker glaze into the folds, a lighter touch on the raised surfaces. The weapons, belts and boots are painted only after the uniform, and the faces at the end. Matte clear unifies the surface and protects the paint during handling.
It will be appreciated by builders of dioramas from the colonial conflicts of the turn of the century and by collectors of figures in 1:72 scale. Paints, glue and bases are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise; check the contents of the package against the data on the box.
