Kelik 1:72 HMS Argus 1943 Type 2 is a color display base with the deck motif of this British aircraft carrier, the second cut for 1:72 models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second variant of the deck motif of HMS Argus from Kelik, in the state matching the year 1943. It is made alongside the variant numbered one, so a collector can have two different cuts of the same ship and choose between them according to how the model is to be turned.
A modeler who gets both versions ends up with two different parts of the same deck. That is useful especially when there are several naval machines in the collection and you do not want to stand them on two identical bases. Each piece works on its own, though, and nothing has to be bought to go with it. Collectors with a larger display case can therefore rotate the bases according to which model is in the foreground of the display at the time.
Argus was converted from an ocean liner still under construction and became the forerunner of all later aircraft carriers with a flat deck. She had no conventional island, which gave her an unmistakable silhouette. In the 1940s she belonged rather among auxiliary and training vessels, but she played her part in combat operations in the Mediterranean.
The goods are intended to display a finished model; they do not replace a kit.
