A set of precisely cut self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the American Lockheed Hudson in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit or a model - it is an accessory that makes it easier to paint the framing of the glazing and other small areas cleanly. The masks are applied directly to the parts, so the glazing frames gain sharp straight edges with no laborious cutting of adhesive tape. Sets of this type usually also hold circular masks for the wheel hubs, for a clean separation of tire from rim.
The Lockheed Hudson was an American twin-engine maritime patrol and light bomber aircraft derived from the civil Model 14 airliner. At the beginning of the Second World War the Royal Air Force used it widely for maritime patrol and anti-submarine work. It also served with other Allied air forces.
Carefully lift the mask off the backing with tweezers or the tip of a knife and place it on the dry, degreased surface of the glazing. Press the edges down thoroughly so that no paint creeps under them. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and lift the mask before the coat has dried completely. On strongly curved shapes it helps to back the edge with liquid mask.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
