A photo-etched set for the model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter in 1:72 scale. An accessory for a finished kit, which has to be bought separately.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter which in 1940 made up a larger part of the RAF fighter force than the Spitfire and bore the main weight of the defensive battles over Britain. Structurally it still came from an older school: the fuselage was built on a tube frame and fabric covered at the rear, and the armament consisted of eight machine guns in the wing. The sturdy airframe took damage well and was easy to repair, which added to its popularity with the squadrons.
Photo-etched parts of thin metal sheet for the Hurricane Mk.I model in 1:72 scale. Photo-etch allows what injection-molded plastic cannot do in this scale: elements of a true thickness of a few tenths of a millimeter with crisp edges and fine detail. The list of parts, their location and any work needed on the plastic kit parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions, and you should follow them for the order of work as well.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with scissors, otherwise the edge will buckle. Bend them over a sharp edge or in a bending tool; done with your fingers, a fold will never come out straight. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, as a drop straight from the tube onto the part will flood the detail. Wash and degrease the sheet before painting, as paint will not hold on a greasy surface even after a base coat. Prepare the small parts over a tray with a rim, so that they do not bounce away onto the floor.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
