The set 1:72 IAF Mirage IIICJ Pilot and Female Ground Crew contains figures to go with a model of the Israeli Mirage IIICJ in 1:72 scale: the pilot of the machine and a member of the ground crew. CMK is one of the Czech manufacturers of accessories, and its range of figures in 1:72 is built exactly so that a model of an aircraft does not stand alone in the display case. Check the exact number of figures in the package on the box.
The Mirage IIICJ is the export version of the French delta-wing Mirage III fighter delivered to the Israeli Air Force at the beginning of the 1960s; in Israeli service it came to be known as the Shahak. It was a single-seat machine with a delta wing and one jet engine, which in Israeli markings served as a fighter and fighter-bomber. The ground crew on these machines worked in light clothing suited to the climate, which matters more for painting figures than it does at European airfields.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and cut the casting blocks off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw; protect your airways when sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). On figures in 1:72 it pays to work from a base through a covering tone to a light accentuation of the folds with a dry brush — detailed shading is lost at this scale. Try the pilot in the cockpit dry before gluing, so that he sits properly against the seat and the canopy.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. The paints, glue and the model of the aircraft are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
