1:72 IAI Kfir C2/C7 Canopy And Wheels Paint Masks brings ready-made cutouts on a single sheet for the frames of the pilot's canopy and the wheel rims of the Israeli fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale. Intended for the AMK 86002 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single sheet with ready-made cutouts in thin masking tape covers the frames of the pilot's canopy and the wheel rims. In 1:72 scale the framing is a fraction of a millimeter wide, so ready-made shapes save the hours that trimming tape by hand with a razor blade along the engraved lines would otherwise swallow. The target kit is the AMK 86002.
The machine came about at Israel Aircraft Industries from the airframe of the Dassault Mirage 5, into which the designers built the American General Electric J79 engine. The C2 version received canards above the air intakes and a dogtooth wing leading edge, and the later C7 then more thrust in afterburner, upgraded avionics and further pylons. Besides the Israeli Air Force the machines flew in Ecuador, Colombia and Sri Lanka.
The film is semi-transparent, so the frame stays visible underneath it and a shape can be seated exactly in place. Transfer a part with tweezers onto the degreased pane, press the edges down with a wooden toothpick and spray in thin layers, so that the paint does not get under the edge. The tape conforms even to the rounded teardrop of the canopy and after careful removal it can be used again.
Neither a kit nor paints are part of the package.
