This is not a kit but a decal set. It completes a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 with the markings of a machine which, according to the name, was captured in Tunisia, operated by the American side and carried the name Irmgard. Captured machines are a rewarding theme among modelers precisely because they combine the original construction with foreign markings and a foreign finish, which cannot be built from a basic kit.
The Bf 109G, nicknamed Gustav, was a development version of the German single-engine fighter aircraft with a liquid-cooled engine. The G-2 version belonged to the earlier machines of this line and served in North Africa as well, where machines were given desert finishes. Captured aircraft were used for trials and for training once they had been re-marked.
Finish the model in paint and polish it over with gloss varnish before the decals, so that the edges of the film do not whiten. Release a decal in warm water, move it into place and draw the surplus water off. On broken-up areas and engraving use softener, so that the decal follows the surface. Once everything has dried perfectly, even the surface out with matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the look you want.
This is an accessory to a kit. The kit, paints and varnishes are not part of the delivery.
