77propeller - a set of eight airbrush stencils for Italian aircraft camouflage in 1:72 scale. It makes it possible to spray the typical blotches and rings without a free hand.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of eight stencils meant for spraying the characteristic camouflage patterns of Italian aircraft of the Second World War in 1:72. The stencil is not stuck to the model but held above the surface; the distance from the surface then decides how soft the edge of the blotch will be. Bringing it closer gives a sharper mark, moving it away a smooth transition.
The machines of the Regia Aeronautica carried irregular green markings over a sand base and in a number of cases the so-called smoke rings, that is a dense tangle of small rings and arcs. Few people can spray them evenly by hand in a small scale, because a slight irregularity is enough and the pattern runs away. The stencil keeps the size as well as the spacing in check, so the marking comes across credibly along the whole length of the fuselage and the wings.
Apply the thinned paint a little at a time and rather in several passes, otherwise a drop will form under the edge. Hold the airbrush perpendicular to the stencil; with a slanting breath the pattern blurs and shifts. Turn or shift the stencil between the individual areas, so that the same motif does not repeat on the model in a regular grid. Once you have finished spraying, wipe it while the paint is still damp.
The stencils are a separate aid for an airbrush and include no plastic parts.
