Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set of the Dead Design brand for spraying the Japanese national insignia onto a model of the Mitsubishi J2M3 in 1:72 scale. According to the name this is the rendition without a white border. You are obtaining an aid for painting; the airframe of the aircraft is a separate kit.
The J2M was created as an interceptor for the navy and it had little in common with the types in use. The designers put climb and speed ahead of agility, they mounted the Kasei engine with an extension shaft and shaped the cowling into a slim point with a cooling fan. That produced the unmistakable outline with a convex windscreen rising steeply above the fuselage. The J2M3 version carried four 20 mm cannons in the wing and was the most widespread variant of the type.
On the J2M3 the insignia sit on the upper and the lower wing surfaces and on the sides of the rear fuselage. Before you press a mask down, run a finger over the surface beneath it: where the insignia goes on the wing there are often engraved lines and raised air scoops, and the film has to lie over them without a crease. You will manage a convex area by warming the shape with hot air from a safe distance and only then pressing it down.
