A collector's model of the German tank destroyer Jagdpanzer IV in 1:72 scale. A piece for the display case, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Jagdpanzer IV was a German tank destroyer of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. The turret was replaced by a fixed box superstructure with sloped sides, into whose front plate a 75 mm gun was set. The solution had two advantages: the vehicle was low and therefore harder to hit, and thanks to its slope the front armor deflected shells better than its thickness alone would suggest. The price paid for that was limited traverse, because a gun without a turret can only be laid on a target outside a narrow arc by turning the whole vehicle. The tank destroyer therefore suited defense and ambush rather than attack in open ground.
The model captures the vehicle in 1:72 scale, that is the scale in which collections of ground vehicles hold together and more of them fit on a shelf. It is supplied finished, assembled and painted, so it needs no glue, no paints and no tools. The low silhouette brings out exactly what matters on the real subject: the sloped sides of the superstructure and the long barrel overhanging the outline of the hull.
It looks best in a display case among vehicles of the same scale, where its size can be compared with the others. Remove dust from the model with a soft brush, not with a cloth, which could dislodge the small parts. Pick the model up by the hull, not by the barrel, because the barrel is the most exposed part. Direct sunlight dulls the paint over time, so choose a spot away from the window for the display case.
Paints, glue and tools are not needed with a finished model and are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
