Dead Design 1:72 Jaguar GR.1/3 (Italeri) is a masking set for the canopy glazing of the single-seat SEPECAT Jaguar attack aircraft in the GR.1 and GR.3 versions, 1:72 scale. The set is cut for the kit from Italeri.

This is a masking set, not a model. The pre-cut parts are applied to the clear canopy, cover the glazing and leave only the frames exposed. Those are then sprayed together with the surrounding airframe, so the transition between frame and glass is crisp and straight. The set is cut for the Jaguar GR.1/3 kit from Italeri, because canopy shapes differ from kit to kit and a mask from another kit would not fit.
The SEPECAT Jaguar is a British-French attack aircraft powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Turboméca Adour jet engines. In British service it was used in the single-seat GR.1 and later upgraded GR.3 versions and in the two-seat T.2 trainer. The cockpit sits high, the canopy has a long slender shape and the windshield is separate, which means several individual frames that are rather difficult to mask by hand.
Before you apply the mask, rid the clear part of grease from your fingers, otherwise the edge will lift. Dipping the canopy in clear gloss varnish beforehand and letting it cure thoroughly is recommended: a smooth surface holds the mask better and the glass stays crystal clear. Spray the framing first in the interior shade and only then in the exterior camouflage finish, so that the frame looks right when seen into the cockpit as well. Lay the paint on in thin coats; a heavy coat tears at the edge of the mask.
