A set of precisely pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the German Junkers Ju 88A-4 bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and it is not a model — it is an accessory that makes it easy to paint the framing of the glazing and other small areas cleanly. The masks stick straight onto the parts, so the glazing frames get sharp, straight edges without any laborious cutting of masking tape. Sets of this type usually also include circular masks for the wheel rims, for a clean separation of the tire from the rim.
The Junkers Ju 88 was a German twin-engine multi-purpose aircraft of the Second World War that served as a bomber, a dive bomber and a night fighter. The A-4 version was one of the main bomber variants, with lengthened wings and more powerful engines, and was deployed on every front. It is among the most extensively produced German aircraft.
Lift each mask off the backing carefully with tweezers or the tip of a knife and lay it on the dry, degreased surface of the glazing. Press the edges down thoroughly so that paint cannot bleed underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and pull the mask off before the coat has dried completely. On strongly curved shapes it helps to seal the edge with masking fluid.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
