Eduard 1:72 Ki-84 Hayate is a full photo-etched set for the model of the Japanese fighter. Pre-painted parts take the place of painting detail for which a brush is too coarse in this scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts from Eduard for the plastic model of the single-engine Ki-84 Hayate fighter in 1:72 scale. It belongs to the full color range, that is the more extensive variant with pre-painted parts, not among the small accessories. The set is not an airplane model; the base kit has to be bought separately. The exact make-up of the sheets is not stated here.
The Ki-84 Hayate is a Japanese single-engine fighter from the later phase of the Second World War, a structurally modern machine with a radial engine and a cantilever all-metal wing. The cockpit is fairly tight, so with the canopy closed what shows of the interior is mainly the instrument panel and the upper part of the seat.
It is precisely in 1:72 scale that a pre-painted etching makes the most sense. Painting the instrument panel by hand is at the limit of what a brush can do here, whereas a pre-painted part comes finished and is glued straight on in color. The rest of the sheet consists of metal parts in bare metal, which are painted along with the model.
Work with good tweezers and good light, and cut the parts off only right before gluing. Apply cyanoacrylate glue with a pin, because surplus on a pre-painted surface leaves a white bloom and the color can no longer be put right. Do not sand the pre-painted parts and do not try to varnish them, because the layer is very thin. Fit the interior before the fuselage is glued together.
The set is an accessory for building a plastic model, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
