A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale with the markings of M26 Pershing tanks of the United States Marine Corps from the Korean War. The second part of the Korean series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M26 Pershing was an American tank that came at the close of the Second World War and differed substantially from the Shermans of the time: it had thicker armor, torsion bar suspension and a 90mm gun. It reached Korea as one of the first machines able to stand up to the Soviet tanks that the opponent committed there. Besides army units, the tank battalions of the Marine Corps used it as well, and their machines carried a system of markings of their own different from the army one.
This set is the second part of the series on the Korean War and concentrates on the Pershings of the Marine Corps. The designs are printed for 1:72 scale.
These are wet decals. Trim the design off tight to the print, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest until it begins to slide freely over the backing paper. Varnish the area to a gloss beforehand; on a matte base a white veil will arise around the design. In busy places a softener helps; a matte varnish then evens the finished surface out.
The sheet will be appreciated by modelers who build American hardware of the 1950s and want to avoid the usual European variants of markings. The sheet of decals is supplied on its own; the model, the paints and the glue do not belong with it, unless stated otherwise.
