A finished collector model of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank in 1:72 scale. The model is painted and is not assembled by you; all you do is stand it in a display case.
Responsibility details are not available.
The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank named after Kliment Voroshilov, and in the first months of the war in 1941 it caused German units no small trouble. Ordinary antitank guns of the day did not pierce its armor, and a single machine could stop a whole column until it ran out of ammunition or fuel. That heavy protection had its price: the tank weighed over forty tons, it was slow, the gearbox struggled under that weight and bridges often would not carry it. The armament was a 76.2 mm gun, that is, the same weapon carried by the far lighter and more mobile T-34. As soon as the Germans fielded stronger antitank means, the advantage of the KV-1 was lost and newer types took over its role.
The model arrives finished and painted, so it is neither built nor glued.
When handling it, hold the model by the hull, not by the gun barrel or by the fenders. Dust it with a soft brush, or blow the dust off; wet cleaning does the surface no good. Direct sunlight shifts the shade of the paint over time, so a shaded spot in a display case suits the model better.
For collectors of Soviet equipment and for modelers who want to keep a 1:72 scale series together without further building. The model is finished and painted, so you need no other equipment for it. A display case is not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
