Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank in the experimental rocket conversion designated KV-1K, in 1:72 scale from the Zebranomodel brand. It is a less usual subject that you do not commonly meet in this scale, so the model will fill out a collection of Soviet vehicles well. Check the exact contents of the package and the number of parts on the box.
The KV-1 tank was a Soviet heavy tank with armor markedly thicker than that of the medium types of the day, with torsion bar suspension and six road wheels per side. It was marked by a high weight, limited mobility and a demanding transmission in service. The version designated KV-1K represented a trial conversion in which the hull was supplemented with equipment for launching unguided rockets. It was an experimental solution that did not go through to series production, and so it has survived only in limited documentation. The model therefore captures a technical experiment rather than a machine in common use.
With a vehicle in 1:72 scale, start from the hull and the running gear. Assemble and paint the wheels, the rollers and the tracks before you finally close the hull up, because later you can no longer reach them. Try the parts dry first: choose the glue according to the material, thin modeling cement for plastic parts, superglue for resin or metal parts. Resin castings are washed free of residues of the mold release agent before gluing, and the casting blocks are cut off with a saw, not with nippers. Spray a primer base, apply graded lightening of the panels over the base shade and finish the surface with a wash in the recesses and dry pigment for mud and dust effects in the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
