A set of photo-etched metal parts for the interior spaces of the model of the Avro Lancaster B Mk.I and B Mk.III bomber in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lancaster was a British four-engined heavy bomber that bore the main weight of the night bombing effort in the Second World War. It was powered by four Merlin V12 engines; the Mk.III differed from the Mk.I in that its engines came from licensed production in the United States. Externally the two versions are very close to each other, which is why one set serves both.
These are photo-etched metal parts intended for the interior spaces of the model. The interior is exactly the place where a small scale shows up first: shapes that in reality are as thin as sheet metal have to be substantially thicker in plastic. Etched parts replace them at the right thickness. The manufacturer's instructions state the exact list of parts and the kit the set is cut for.
Work on the set before you close the fuselage, because later you will no longer be able to reach the interior spaces. Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard backing; do not break them out. Make the bends over a metal rule or in a bending tool while the part is still free. They are bonded with super glue applied in a minute amount, since cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer.
The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
