An injection-molded plastic kit of the Leopard 2A6M main battle tank in Canadian Army form. The model in 1:72 scale faithfully captures the add-on slat armor on the hull and turret and the characteristic equipment on the upper part of the vehicle. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Leopard 2A6M is a version of the German Leopard 2 tank with strengthened mine protection of the hull floor. The Canadian Armed Forces deployed these tanks, borrowed from the German Bundeswehr, during operations in southern Afghanistan. The vehicles received additional slat armor against rocket-propelled grenades and communications equipment stowed in boxes at the rear of the turret, so as to protect the crew better in demanding combat conditions.
The smaller scale puts the emphasis on careful cleaning up of the parts and on subtle shading. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and fit the slat armor carefully. We recommend a primer, an airbrush for the base camouflage and fine washes and pigments to bring out the details and add a dusty patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
