This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker MAC Distribution represents the German Mercedes-Benz LG 3000 heavy truck in its cargo (flatbed) version. Besides the plastic moldings the release contains photo-etched parts (the Mercedes emblems among them) and a decal sheet with several marking options; the exact contents depend on the particular boxing. It is a short-run molding, where more careful cleaning up of the parts pays off.
The Mercedes-Benz LG 3000 was a German heavy truck used by the Wehrmacht and the Luftwaffe in the Second World War. It was built with a range of specialized bodies, from the flatbed cargo truck through tankers to workshop and signals vehicles. The sturdy three-axle chassis coped with supply duties in the rear areas and closer to the front alike.
Assemble and clean up the chassis, the axles and the wheels before you fit the cab and the cargo bed. Short-run plastic benefits from sanding the mold seams and cleaning the flash off. Lay down a primer, then the main shade according to the period - gray Panzergrau or dark yellow Dunkelgelb. The tarpaulin over the cargo bed can be picked out with a gentle wash in the folds; finish the wheels and the wheel arches with dust pigments for a used look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
