A set of painting masks from Peewit in 1:72 for the photo-reconnaissance Lockheed F-5A Lightning will make sharp spraying of the cockpit frames and of the other glazed areas easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive die-cut masks in 1:72 scale from Peewit. It is not a kit but an accessory that follows the shape of the frames of the canopy and, where applicable, of the other clear parts exactly. The masks let you spray sharp, straight edges to the frames without the laborious laying down of strips of adhesive tape.
The Lockheed F-5A Lightning was the unarmed photo-reconnaissance version of the twin-engine P-38 Lightning fighter. In place of the armament in the nose it carried a set of aerial cameras, and during the Second World War it served for strategic and tactical reconnaissance. The characteristic twin-boom layout with the pilot's nacelle was kept.
Lift the masks carefully off the sheet, place them on clean glass and press them down. Close the edges off and spray the area with the interior color first, then with the exterior shade. Peel the mask off shortly after the paint has dried. Thin coats with an airbrush suit the job, so that no ridges form at the edge of the frame.
This is an accessory set of masks, not a model of an aircraft. The kit, the paints and the clear coat are not included in the package.
