The Eduard mask Lockheed P-38J Lightning 1:72 is a set of self-adhesive, precisely die-cut kabuki tape masks for painting the glazing framing and other clear areas cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masking templates die-cut from fine yellow kabuki tape (Japanese masking paper). The masks are shaped exactly for a particular injection-molded Lockheed P-38J Lightning kit in 1:72 scale, so they fit the cockpit framing and the other clear areas perfectly. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
Masking glazing by hand with adhesive tape and a knife is slow and an inaccurate line comes easily. Die-cut masks shorten the work to minutes and give sharp, repeatable transitions between metal and glazing. Kabuki tape follows curves well, leaves no sticky residue and is easy to remove after spraying.
Lift the mask off the backing with tweezers, lay it on degreased glazing and press the edges down carefully. Lay the paint on in thin coats with an airbrush so that it does not run under the edge of the mask. Remove the mask shortly after the paint has dried, while the coat is still flexible.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
