Eduard 1:72 Lockheed U-2A is a masking set of conformable paper tape for spraying the glazing frames of a model of the U-2A reconnaissance aircraft in 1:72 scale cleanly.

This is a masking set, not an aircraft kit. The package holds pre-cut masks of self-adhesive paper tape, which are stuck onto the glazing and other areas of the model before the paint is sprayed. The tape conforms to the curve of the canopy, holds reliably on the edge of the frame and leaves no adhesive on the clear part once removed. It thus saves the most unpleasant part of the build, where thin strips are cut by hand at a small scale and the paint runs under them anyway. The set is intended for 1:72 scale and for the U-2A version; the particular extent and the number of masks are stated on the box.
The Lockheed U-2 is a single-engine high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft with a very slender wing of exceptionally large span in relation to the fuselage, close in structure to a glider. The U-2A version represents an early form of the type with a first-generation jet engine. Aerodynamics optimized for flight at great altitude called for a light structure, an unusual landing gear with the main leg on the centerline of the fuselage and jettisonable outrigger supports under the wing. The cockpit is fairly small, but the canopy frames are thin and irregular in 1:72 scale, so accurate masking is hard without a template.
Wash the glazing first in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry, so that the tape holds. Lift the masks off the sheet with fine-pointed tweezers and press them down with a toothpick, chiefly in the corners and at the transitions. Lay the paint on with an airbrush in several thin coats - a heavy coat builds an edge that looks ragged after unmasking. Pull the mask back at a shallow angle while the paint is freshly dry. On an aircraft this slender it pays to hold the model by a handle while spraying rather than by the wing, which is very thin at this scale.
