1:72 M3A1

M3A1 kit in 1:72 scale

A kit of the military vehicle designated M3A1 in 1:72 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, so you build and paint the finished model yourself. 1:72 scale is popular among military vehicles above all because the model takes up little shelf space and can still be set into a smaller scene with figures and terrain.

About the M3A1 designation

More than one piece of equipment in the US Army carried the M3A1 designation: it was a light tank of the Stuart family, but also an armored scout car and a half-track vehicle. So check the kind of vehicle against the artwork on the box or against the instructions in the kit. The individual machines differ so much that the designation alone is not enough to decide by.

Building tips

• dry-fit the parts before gluing and check how well they sit together
• choose the glue according to the material of the parts given in the manufacturer's instructions
• in this scale, cut the small parts on a hard mat and hold them with tweezers
• paint the underside and the inner surfaces before you glue the individual sections together
• a primer evens the surface out and the further coats then hold considerably better
