This kit captures the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model from the Ukrainian maker UM, usually complemented by a small photo-etched fret and a decal sheet. The running gear parts and the link-and-length track links are separate, which allows the chassis to be assembled with care.
The M4A3 was the version of the Sherman powered by the Ford GAA gasoline V8 and built with a welded hull. It was among the most widespread American variants and was fielded in Western Europe as well as in the Pacific at the end of the Second World War. The basic configuration carried a 75 mm gun in the turret and the vertical volute spring suspension (VVSS).
We recommend assembling and fine-tuning the running gear and the wheels before you close the hull. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, treat the surface with a primer and spray with an airbrush. Lightening the edges, washes in the recesses and dust pigments for weathering will bring the olive drab finish to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
