Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M4A3E8 Sherman Easy Eight medium tank in its Korean War configuration, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the late form of the vehicle with the wide HVSS suspension and period items of equipment. The tracks are of the flexible (vinyl) type with the late pattern, and a decal sheet is included.
During the Korean War the Shermans in service were mostly M4A3E8 versions with HVSS suspension. Compared with the wartime configuration there were small but recognizable changes, for example a field telephone on the rear plate, a first-aid box on the side and a canvas cover over the gun mantlet. Vehicles of this period also commonly carried the late type of track with a rubber pad. Some tanks had striking markings painted on the front, including tiger jaws.
Assemble the HVSS suspension and the wheels before closing the hull, and do not forget the period equipment. Use liquid cement, primer and an airbrush; the olive green finish comes alive with dark washes in the recesses and with pigments for dust and mud on the wide running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
