An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M5 light tank in 1:72 scale from Mirage Hobby, in a configuration referring to the fighting in Tunisia in 1942. The model is intended to be glued and painted.
The M5 was a development version of the M3 series light tank with a pair of Cadillac gasoline engines and an automatic transmission. It kept the 37 mm gun in a rotating turret and machine guns for close defense. It was fielded among other places in North Africa, where the Allied units operated in a demanding desert setting. Light tanks carried out reconnaissance and escort duties.
Assemble the running gear and the hull first, and finish the turret only afterwards. Sand and ocher shades suit the desert scheme and can be picked out with dust pigments and a light wash. Weather the running gear before the final assembly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
