The extended grade of the New Ware mask set for the reconnaissance version of the Voodoo in 1:72 scale. The set is cut for a particular kit and is supplied as a self-adhesive film on a backing sheet. Of the three grades offered, ADVANCED lies above the basic range.
Applying and removing are two different skills, and it is the second one where mistakes happen. Lay the film on a dry surface and press it down from the center to the edges, which drives the air out. Take it off at the moment when the paint is no longer tacky but has not yet fully cured, that is typically within hours of spraying rather than after several days. Pull the film slowly, at a shallow angle and back across itself. Anyone who tugs it straight up will peel a strip of finish away along the edge with the mask.
Mask the glazing only after it has been glued into the model and the seams have been filled, or you will clog the edge of the mask with putty. Wipe any excess glue around the frame off at once; a dried trace will be sprayed over under the mask and will show. If you glue the glazing with super glue, reckon on fogging and rather use a PVA glue made for canopies.
The package holds only the masking film. Paints, glue and a kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
