The extended grade of the mask set for building the Yak-130 in 1:72 scale. Besides the glazing of the tandem cockpit, which the basic version also handles, the ADVANCED grade covers further masked places. The choice between the two grades is essentially a decision about how much of the work you want done for you out of the box: the basic set handles the essentials, the extended one covers what you would otherwise cut out yourself. The set is cut for the Zvezda 7307 kit.
The masks are meant to cover surfaces that are to stay clean after spraying or to have an exactly bounded shape. Large flat surfaces of the fuselage are still masked with ordinary tape or masking fluid; the set handles places of complex shape, where cutting by hand is slow and inaccurate. The glazing moreover stays protected throughout the build from dust, fingerprints and scuffing.
Degrease the surface, move the mask with tweezers and press the edges down carefully. On frames in a small scale it helps to overspray the edges lightly first with the color that is under the mask, so that any creep does not show. Spray thinned paint in several light passes. Once dry, raise a corner of the mask with a needle and lift it off slowly, back across itself.
The package holds only the masks. A kit and paints are not part of it.
