A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal. It belongs among the themed sheets that the manufacturer names not after the type of aircraft but after the subject, in this case after the Mediterranean area. The particular machines and schemes worked up are clear from the printed sheet supplied with the decals. The product is an accessory for a build, not a kit.
A themed sheet brings together markings that belong together by period or by place and gives the modeler the chance to build a coherent pair or group of models with a common subject. For a display case that is more rewarding than randomly chosen machines. The Mediterranean area is rich in this respect: aircraft of several states operated there, often in camouflage shades different from those in northern Europe, and the markings tended to be adapted to the conditions of that theater.
With sheets that may have lain in storage for some time, check the condition of the film first. A yellowed carrier can often be cleared by leaving the sheet in daylight for a few days. A brittle, cracked film can be saved with a thin coat of clear varnish sprayed over the whole sheet, which strengthens the decal; once it is dry, each motif then has to be cut out individually, because the varnish joins the separate pieces together. Before you let the decals onto a finished model, try one piece you do not need.
The product is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
