Master 1:72 MiG-15 and MiG-15bis gun barrels set, antenna base and pitot tube is a set of turned metal barrels, an antenna base and an air data tube for MiG-15 and MiG-15bis models in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set by the Polish brand Master covers, according to the manufacturer's designation, three groups of parts at once: the barrels of the gun armament, the antenna base and the air data pitot tube for MiG-15 and MiG-15bis models in 1:72 scale. It is a metal accessory for a build, not a kit. The advantage over plastic is even more pronounced in a small scale than in large ones: parts whose diameter in 1:72 is a fraction of a millimeter simply cannot be injection molded with an open muzzle.
The MiG-15 was a Soviet single-engine jet fighter with a swept wing. Its gun armament consisted of one cannon of larger caliber and a pair of cannons of smaller caliber grouped under the nose, in a place that is clearly visible on a model from the front and from below. The bis version differed from the basic one above all in a more powerful engine. The air data tube projects from the leading edge of the wing and is among the parts of a model most easily damaged.
Work one part at a time and always dry first. Cut the plastic barrels off at the root, drill the holes with a micro drill bit matching the pin and check that the barrels point parallel, because asymmetry under the nose shows up immediately. Set the antenna base according to the assembly instructions at the right spacing from the spine of the fuselage. Fit the air data tube right at the end, after the decals and the varnish. Degrease the metal parts with alcohol before painting and use a primer for metal. At the muzzles of the barrels it pays not to put paint on at all and simply to darken the brass with a blackening agent, so that the bore stays sharp and is not flooded.
This is an accessory for building a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
