A set of precisely turned metal parts from the Polish manufacturer MASTER in 1:72 scale for a model of the Soviet fighter MiG-17 in the A, P and F versions (NATO designation Fresco A, B, C). The set holds the cannon barrels (37 mm and 23 mm) and the Pitot tubes. It is not a model or a kit: it is a detail accessory that replaces the plastic parts with faithful metal with sharper geometry and a clean bore at the muzzle. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.

The real subject

The MiG-17 was a Soviet subsonic fighter aircraft of the early 1950s that followed on from the MiG-15 with an improved wing and better flying qualities. Its cannon armament was a combination of a heavier 37 mm gun and two of 23 mm, grouped under the nose of the fuselage. The A, P and F versions differed in equipment including the radar. Turned metal parts bring out the small but prominent features of the real subject.

Installation tips

• Cut the plastic barrels and the Pitot tube off according to the instructions and clean up the mating surfaces.
• Glue the metal parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate): cement for plastic will not hold on metal.
• Degrease the metal and lay a primer before painting.
• Fit the Pitot tube at the end of the build so that the tip is not damaged.
