Omask 1:72 MiG-19 S/P/PM landing gear bay plugs (for KP) are foam inserts that blank off the landing gear bays of a model for as long as you are spraying. This is a masking accessory, not a model: there is no kit in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of landing gear bay plugs from the Czech brand Omask. They are shaped foam inserts that blank off the open landing gear bays for as long as you are spraying the exterior color. The shapes follow a particular kit: this set is made for the MiG-19 S/P/PM kit from KP in 1:72 scale. The package contains neither a model nor any plastic parts.
The interior of a landing gear bay is usually a completely different shade from the exterior skin, and it is deep and full of detail. If paint gets in there during spraying, correcting it is next to impossible: you cannot reach inside with a brush. Lining such an opening with tape takes a great deal of time and still is not one hundred percent reliable. A plug is pushed in before painting and pulled out after spraying, and that is that.
The MiG-19 was the first series-produced Soviet supersonic fighter, a machine with swept wings and a pair of engines that took Soviet fighter aviation past the speed of sound. The S, P and PM versions differed in armament and equipment, including the radar and the guided missiles on the later variants. The kit in 1:72 is released by Kovozavody Prostejov (KP), a traditional Czech manufacturer of plastic models.
For anyone building the MiG-19 in 1:72 scale from the KP kit who does not want to risk overspray in the landing gear bays. It also suits beginners: unlike masking with tape, there is nothing here to get wrong.
A modeling accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
