A die-cut self-adhesive masking set for the Soviet two-seat combat trainer version of the MiG-29UB fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Peewit. It is not an airplane model but a set of precisely cut masks of fine masking tape, which make it easier to spray the frames of the large cockpit canopy and other areas cleanly, without laboriously cutting tape by hand.
The MiG-29 was a Soviet twin-engine fourth-generation frontline fighter with pronounced blending of the wing into the fuselage. The UB version is the two-seat combat trainer variant with two seats in tandem and a modified nose, in which room for an instructor was created at the expense of the radar. It serves for training pilots and keeps a considerable part of the combat capability of the single-seat version. The long two-seat cockpit canopy has many frames, and masking them by hand is a lengthy job.
Transfer the masks onto a perfectly clean and degreased surface, seat them precisely and press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a burnisher, so that the paint does not bleed under them. First spray the inner shade of the framing, then once dry the outer color, and remove the masks before the paint has hardened completely. Any adhesive residue comes off with light moistening.
The set holds self-adhesive masks; it is not a model or a kit. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
