An accurate turned metal accessory for a model of the Soviet and Russian heavy interceptor MiG-31 Foxhound in 1:72 scale. The set replaces the plastic pitot tube on the nose with a fine metal part. It is not an aircraft model but a detail replacement part that markedly refines one of the most conspicuous areas of the model.
A turned metal tube is perfectly straight and thin and has a sharp end of a kind that a plastic molding cannot manage. At the same time it is more resistant to bending and snapping, which on a long nose tube is a common weak point. The nose of the aircraft thus gains faithful and clean detail.
Cut the plastic tube off, drill a hole in the remaining part and glue the metal tube in with cyanoacrylate. The modification is easy and quick.
This is a supplementary detail set, not a complete kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
