The classic jet fighter MiG-15bis in 1:72 scale gains a colored instrument panel and side panels thanks to the Eduard SPACE set. The colored 3D decals serve as an accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The cockpit of the first jet fighters was full of round dials and small levers that are exceptionally hard to paint in 1:72 scale. A set from the SPACE range does that work for you: the decals are printed in layers, so they have both color and raised relief and, once applied, look like worked-out detail. It is not a model but an accessory for a model.
The MiG-15bis is an improved version of the Soviet fighter that became a symbol of the first years of the Cold War. A swept wing, a barrel-shaped fuselage with a nose air intake and heavy cannon armament made it an unpleasant opponent in the Korean War, where it met Western types. The bis version was given a more powerful engine and a range of detail changes. The aircraft served in enormous numbers throughout the Eastern bloc and, in its Czechoslovak configuration, is among the best-known machines of the country's history.
Before applying them, spray the interior and polish the areas under the decals with a gloss varnish. Given the size of the parts, work with fine-tipped tweezers and plenty of light. Moisten only the backing paper, lift the elements off with tweezers and settle them into PVA glue, adjusting the position with a fine brush. Avoid a softener and a fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. Once dry, knock the surface back to matte and close the interior up only after it has dried through completely.
