This is neither a kit nor decals but a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks. They are made by the Czech manufacturer Eduard of Obrnice near Most, and this item belongs to the range of masks for 1:72 scale. The masks are die-cut from kabuki paper, that is thin Japanese masking paper with a mild adhesive, which follows a slightly curved surface and does not pull the paint off when it is removed. The purpose of the set is to leave the glazing clean and the frames crisp, without your having to cut around them with a knife on the model itself.
In 1:72 scale the frames of a canopy are often only a few tenths of a millimeter wide. Cutting them by hand from tape at that width means one twitch destroys the whole job, and painting the frame by hand with a brush gives it an uneven width that draws attention at once on a finished model. A pre-cut mask removes that problem entirely: every piece has the right shape and the right width.
Before masking, simply wash the glazing and never polish it with abrasive compounds. Lift the masks off the sheet with tweezers and press them down around the whole edge with a pointed toothpick, above all in the curves, where the paper tries hardest to lift. Spray a thin coat of the interior color or a base coat first; that seals the edges and stops the final color from seeping under. Apply the paint in several light coats, as a heavy coat creates a step at the edge. Take the masks off while the paint is freshly dry but not fully cured, as no cracks then form at the edge.
