Art Scale 1:72 Mirage IIIE French Air Force part 4 is a decal set in 1:72 scale for models of the French combat aircraft Mirage IIIE. It is not a kit but an accessory for a model that has already been built.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from Art Scale intended for models of the Dassault Mirage IIIE aircraft in the armament of the French Air Force. The set does not contain a model on its own: it serves to mark a finished model in place of the sheet from the box of a kit, or as an extension of it. The designation part 4 means that this is a further part of a decal line for the same type; the individual sheets complement each other and can be combined according to which particular aircraft you want to build.
The Mirage IIIE is a single-engine combat aircraft with a delta wing that came about as a multirole version of the Mirage III family. Compared with the purely interceptor version it has a lengthened forward fuselage with room for navigation and attack equipment, which made it a machine suited to tasks over ground targets as well. The design with a tailless delta wing gives a model a very clean silhouette on which the insignia and national markings are clearly visible, so the quality of the decals has a large share in the final impression.
Lay the decals onto a smooth gloss surface, otherwise air will be trapped beneath them and a matte frame will appear. The procedure is a proven one: a gloss coat, warm water, transferring the decal into place, blotting the excess water away and finally a decal softener, so that the film draws down into the pressed detail and the engraved lines. Once dry, go over the whole model with a matte or semi-matte varnish, so that the decal merges with the paint. With longer stripes and lettering, measure the position out in advance, as correction after drying tends to be difficult.
This is a separate decal sheet. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
