A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard containing rear-view mirrors for aircraft models in 1:72 scale. The mirrors were mounted on the canopy frame and gave the pilot a view to the rear. The photo-etched version replaces coarse plastic parts with thin and faithful mirrors; the reflective surface can be added with a gloss foil or sprayed. The set is conceived as a universal accessory for several types of machine. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory; the base kit has to be obtained separately.
Rear-view mirrors on the canopy are among the typical small features of many fighters and other aircraft. In 1:72 scale plastic castings are often too coarse, so photo-etched mirrors markedly refine the look of the cockpit.
Carefully nip the parts out and bend them if necessary on a hard surface; they are glued with a tiny drop of cyanoacrylate glue. Create the reflective surface with a gloss self-adhesive foil or with silver paint. Work with tweezers, as the parts are very small.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
